Egil Petter Stræte

Stræte is an agricultural economist from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) (1987). He received a doctoral degree (dr.polit.) in economic geography from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in 2006. Stræte has experience from research and development work in the areas of food-related restructuring and organisation of innovation in firms and organisations; structural changes and power in food supply chains; advisory service in agriculture; rural development; joint farming; rural tourism etc. His work has concentrated mainly on the food sector and agriculture, with a particular emphasis on the dairy sector. His general research interests are related to business development, regional development, rural development, and agriculture. Stræte was Director of the Centre for Rural Research (now RURALIS) in the period 2008-2013.
