Hilde Bjørkhaug has worked at the Centre for Rural Research since 1997. She holds a doctoral degree in sociology. Bjørkhaug's research at the CRR has focused on different aspects of agricultural restructuring and family farming. This has included research on the situation of organic agriculture over a 10-year period, examining organic consumption as well as production. Bjørkhaug's research experience and interests are well aligned with the focus on sustainable agriculture and food embedded in the aims and strategies of the CRR. A gender perspective has been a natural part of her approach to most the projects; however, this persepctive is at the very core of the project she is currently involved in: "Power and Privilege, Meaning and Management" and "Gender in the Board Room".
